Marilyn has worked in the fitness industry since 1983 in positions ranging from fitness instructor to Management Level, including Fitness Director of the prestigious Baylor Tom Landry Center. Her many accomplishments in the field of traditional fitness include a 2004 nomination by the American Council on Exercise (ACE) as Group Exercise Instructor of the Year, 2 gold medals in the National and World Aerobic competitions, second place as a competitive bodybuilder in the AAU Competition Master’s Division, appearances on ABC’s “Health Source with Dr. David Winter” and a featured fitness expert for the Dallas Morning News. She has also conducted numerous workshops and master classes throughout the U.S. Marilyn received her Pilates certification in 2004 through Pilates Unlimited under the direction of Karen Sanzo, P.T. Specializing in Pilates training, Balance and Stability Ball training, Core Strength Development, as well as Strength and Weight Training, she is also a Certified Physical Fitness Specialist (Cooper Institute) and a Certified Group Exercise Instructor (ACE). She attends workshops and trainings regularly to continue to expand her knowledge of all aspects of fitness. Marilyn feels everyone can benefit from Pilates whether recovering from an injury, fighting chronic pain or just trying to get in shape. Regular Pilates practice can give you a new awareness of your body and its capabilities. |
